Restaurant Mattis
Location: Esslingen, Germany | Category: Restaurant
The Mattis in Esslingen serves a broad selection of home-cooked Swabian “Maultaschen” – a local speciality similar to ravioli. The owners have converted a former cookery school to create a modern ambience that appeals to all age groups. The dark, elegant furniture provides a wonderful contrast to the bright and light rooms.
Tables with solid oak tops and black powder-coated aluminium frames (from the Kerst range) add a stylish and elegant note. Meanwhile, the variety of table heights lends the room some structure. Guests can choose to sit on Quirin beechwood chairs or on Quin bar stools. The Marlo upholstered chair is a real eye-catcher – it is covered with cosy fabric and features dark chair legs with brass sleeves. They look great in the small reading corner.
The concept definitely works. The “Mattis” appeals to its customers’ tastes, both in terms of the menu and the ambience: “You can tell that people enjoy the food. And all the feedback that we have received regarding the interior furnishings has also been positive.”
